Raised garden beds are ideal for raising flower beds and vegetables. Planting your vegetable garden in a raised garden bed makes their maintenance, weeding and care easy. With this raised you can say goodbye to your back pains which often results from bending too long over flower beds and vegetable patches.

You can have your garden beds as high as you want but best would be a foot high in terms of cost. In terms of convenience having it waist-high is ideal. Having it about 3-4 feet wide will allow you to reach the middle of the patch without too much stretching.

These patches can contain just one small bed with multiple vegetables, or you can create multiple beds, each with one or two vegetables apiece. If you decide to create multiple beds though, be sure to leave several feet of space in between them, so that you’re capable to easily move around with various garden tools and supplies

This type of horticulture is very similar to container gardens. The raised beds serve as containers and very popular because they make gardening and simpler and easier exercise. With this kind of gardening you don’t have to fret about rocky, hard or bad soil. With raised beds you add new materials to over your soil which is the right mix for plants instead of trying to improve your old ground soil. There is no need for your to dig hard ground, remove the big rocks and weeds.

If there are weeds just place a sheet or weed container sheet and place your raised bed over it. Even a thick layer of newspaper works well or use heavy plastic sheets. This creates a barrier of sorts for the weeds and prevents them from germination in your new raised bed.
